After years of using stick clips that wobbled, broke, and generally came up short, we designed the Spire Clip to be the best and longest-lasting stick clip you’ve ever used. The pole is constructed of carbon-fiber - making it both light and sturdy - with aluminum locks that won’t break or slip. But the Spire Clip is more than just a great pole; our custom, patent pending, head is specifically designed to clip your rope into hung draws, hang and remove draws, and keep a draw pre-clipped when pulling your rope.

Spire Clip Features

Durable and Rigid - The Spire Clip's pole is constructed from durable carbon fiber that won't bend or dent and its exceptional rigidity allows each section to be used without flexing or wobbling.

Easily Clip a Hanging Draw - The new Spire Clip system allows you to clip your rope into a hung draw without tying a complicated knot or practicing for hours.

Aluminum Locks - Unlike plastic flip locks that wear out over time, our aluminum locks provide a secure, durable solution that won’t slip.

Lightweight - While durability was a big priority, we also wanted a stick clip that was light. At just over one pound, the Spire Clip is the lightest 10' stick clip around.

Long Extension - The Spire Clip extends to over 10 feet and, because the carbon fiber pole is super rigid and doesn’t wobble, you can actually use its entire length.

Integrated Hook - Want to pull the rope but leave the first draw(s) clipped? The Spire Clip's hook helps you manage your rope with less shenanigans.

Removable End Cap - The bottom cap of the pole can be unscrewed, making it easy to rinse out any sand or dirt that gets into the pole.

Easily Hang and Remove Draws - And of course, the Spire Clip easily hangs and removes draws.

The SlabPro Add-On

Ever tried to clip a rope into a draw hanging on a slab? Its aggravating and nearly impossible. With the slab pro you can clip draws hanging on slabs with ease. The SlabPro easily snaps onto the head of the Spire Clip and stores inside the pole when you're not using it.

After only a few weeks Im convinced the Spire Clip is the best new piece of gear in my kit. Only recently after breaking one the competitions (expensive and clearly fragile) clips after only 5 uses I had found myself at the crag wondering why there wasn't an actually quality clip on the market, specifically designed for climbers who put the work in on their gear but also want it sleek.

The Spire Clip is the one. Protects you from the ground and attaches easily while climbing, without any annoyance.

I also consider any well designed piece of gear to be intuitive with its use. I recently used the Spire Clip to teach novice climbers both the risk management capabilities of clip use but also the freedom to move up the wall on hard projects and everyone found the Spire Clip to be the easiest and most satisfying to use.

With that... and the Spire Clip.. Im headed to the crag now.

Been using a lot of stick clips over the last 15 years of climbing, this is by far the best I have used. The redesigned “super clip” head makes clipping and removing draws a breeze and the carbon fiber pole is nice and stiff to allow for consistent use. The little slab helper is very nice when dealing with those pesky draws against the rock as well. Wish it was a bit longer but love it.

This thing is impressive. I've used (and broken) a couple handfuls of telescoping stick clips, and I sprung for one of these after yet another Kailas pole self-destructed on me. The head on the spire clip is a bit easier to use than my old superclip and the steel must be twice as thick as the flimsy Kailas heads. The twist locks are solid and easy to use, and I'm psyched there's no plastic shatter or get thin and slip.

This thing was definitely not cheap, but I don't think there's a scrap on plastic on it and all the usual failure points are obviously beefed up. I figured I'd get a spire clip and buy once cry once and I recommend you do the same.

Spire Clip 101

Clipping the Rope

Make a loop in the rope and place the two strands into the notched section of the prongs. The lower strand should rest in the hook on the back. Fit the loop around the carabiner and pull the lower strand to clip. If the Spire Clip remains on the rope just pull it off while holding both stands of the rope.

Hanging a Draw

Place the carabiner between the two prongs of the head so the gate is held open. Place the nose of the carabiner into the bolt and pull down to release

Keeping a Draw Pre-Clipped

Using the hook side of the head, grab the rope above the draw you want and pull.

PRO-TIP - This works best if done as the rope is falling through the draws above. Time it just right and you won't have much extra rope on the climbers side to pull through.

Retrieving a Draw

Fish one prong of the head into the carbiner so that the gate clips into the upper notch (where you place the rope to clip a draw). While gently pulling out so the carabiner lays horizontal, rotate the pole to open the gate. Keep rotating to free the carabiner.

This can take a little practice to get dialed. Alternatively you can clip your rope to the draw, then while pulling down on both sides push the end of the Spire Clip over the carabiner to open the gate. You will end up with the same setup as when hanging a draw and you can simply lift the draw off.
